The Diary of a Young Girl-Anne Frank-Wednesday-November 03-1943

 The Diary of a Young Girl-Anne Frank-Wednesday-November 03-1943

Anne’s father knew well the condition of his children, so he arranged for books to divert their attention from the oppressive atmosphere inside the Annex. A book on ‘Elementary Latin’ reached for Margot and she enthusiastically decided to take the course despite its expenses. He also decided to arrange children’s Bible for Anne.

Since their vacuum cleaner was broken, Anne has to brush at the rug and it makes the dust to go in the air and then settle down in the rooms on everything. The stove also caused a lot of smoke. Therefore, dust and smoke also contributed in polluting atmosphere of the Secret Annex. Previously the time for lighting the stove was 5:30 a.m., but it has been changed to 7:30 on Sundays, Anne thinks it risky as the smoke would easily be visible to people at this time.

The curtains were firmly attached to the windows so that no light from inside go out and the windows might not tempt any of the insiders to peep into the street. If anyone ever tried to do so, he or she was the subject to harsh scolding.

Presently the stormy scenes of quarrels have subsided; only Dussel and Daans are at loggerheads.
